Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

As well as rolling countryside and mountains, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes has a few large cities including gastronomic capital Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand. There are also a number of Plus Beaux Villages de France in the region.

The main draw of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is the Alps mountain range. The Alps is one of the most popular skiing areas in the world and attracts athletes, families and the rich and famous to its resorts.

Hearty food is the regional speciality, most of it involving cheese in some way! Some local specialities found in the mountains include tartiflette, raclette, truffade and cheese fondue.

Average property prices in this region vary from €2,783/m2 for houses and €3,350/m2 for apartments.
