Les Cailloux, a fully catered mountain chalet in the centre of Barèges, makes a convenient base for skiing and snowboarding, with easy access to the Grand Tourmalet (Barèges-La Mongie) ski resort, the largest in the French Pyrénées. It is also well placed for other winter activities such as snow-shoeing, with marked trails starting just a couple of minutes’ walk away. The property can accommodate up to 14 people and has five spacious bedrooms, one of which is a large two-bedroom suite. Meals include a continental breakfast and three-course dinner featuring local ingredients, served in the large dining room. The chalet is owned by Robert and Emma Mason, who run the Barèges-based Mountain Bug, which organises winter and summer activity holidays in the Pyrénées.
