New Champagny-en-Vanoise ski apartments

Champagny-en-Vanoise is great for skiing and summer escapes. These new apartments in Les Alpages de Champagny are well located at the resort entrance

Leading developer MGM French Properties is adding an additional chalet to Les Alpages de Champagny, a luxury ski residence located at the entrance of the Champagny-en-Vanoise resort. The new chalet comprises two to five-bedroom apartments which will provide its residents with homely accommodation and stunning views, as well as exclusive access to the private pool and facilities next door, building on the popularity of the original development. The intimate collection of 13 apartments are available for outright purchase and start from €305,000.

Les Alpages de Champagny is built in a sympathetic style in keeping with the traditional houses and shops which group around a 17th century Baroque church in the village centre. Clad in locally-sourced stone and wood, the residence epitomises rustic Alpine charm.

Inside, apartments are designed and finished to the highest standard. Interior details such as stone and wood parquet flooring, pine doors, granite work tops and walls completed in wood or a bright white finish make for the perfect blank canvas to style with interior furnishings. The sitting rooms are bright featuring floor-to-ceiling bay windows which lead onto large, private balconies where stunning views of the valley and Vanoise Glaciers can be enjoyed.

Kitchens come fully-fitted with the latest appliances, bedrooms are completed with large built-in wardrobes and bathrooms include vanity units with basin and mirror. Each apartment also boasts a private storage cellar, a ski locker and a private car parking space. Additionally, the units are securely accessed by a digicode system which ensures both security and ease for owners who are looking to rent out their apartments during the ski season.

Champagny-en-Vanoise is one of the Alps’ best kept secrets, the pretty, traditional mountain village is situated in a stunning wooded area at the entrance to the Vanoise National Park. With an altitude of 1,250m and excellent access to the La Plagne/Paradiski ski area, the village is perfect for skiers wanting a beautiful, authentic setting with access to great skiing. Champagny-en-Vanoise is one of 10 ski resorts of La Plagne skiing domain.

The ski area comprises 135 marked runs spanning 225km of terrain, which can be accessed via the Champagny gondola lift from the village. This includes a variety of beginner friendly slopes such as 10 green and 71 blue runs. For intermediate to experienced skiers there are 34 red and 19 black pistes as well as cross-country terrain and a dedicated snow park for showing off tricks.

Other activities in the resort include children’s sleighing, dog sledging, guided snow-shoeing, horse riding and ice skating to name a few which are available during the ski season. A popular activity for thrill seekers is the Olympic bobsleigh run which boasts 1,500 meters and 19 bends. Visitors can choose between four ‘thrill’ levels which reach speeds of up to 120km per hour.

In the summer months, there is still a great deal to do in the resort. Families can enjoy nature at its finest, with a variety of walks and hiking trails through its valleys and mountains or fishing. The Champagny gondola stays open in the summer, meaning altitudes of 1,970m can be reached year-round.

Cycle enthusiasts benefit from extensive cycle-tourism that is organised on its road as well as mountain biking options. The Vanoise region is also home to a range of extreme outdoor activities such as quad driving, rock climbing, canyoning, white water rafting and paragliding.

Champagny’s town has a selection of great amenities including grocery shops, bakery, deli, gift shops and clothing stores, several sports shops, ski hire and a cinema with regular English screenings. There are several ski school options available and an independent childcare centre.

Richard Deans, Sales Manager at MGM French Properties comments,“The expansion of Les Alpages de Champagny is a testiment to its popularity and success as a leaseback development. The new apartments open up a special opportunity for more customers to purchase outright and enjoy a world-class ski resort.”

“Residents will benefit quick access to the slopes with a free navette bus between the residence and gondola lift which is one kilometre away. They will also enjoy the fantastic facilities including swimming pool and sauna, providing the perfect place to relax and unwind in after a long day skiing.”

Reaching Champagny-en-Vanoise itself is also easy, there are eight airports within three hours’ drive of the resort to choose from including Annecy, Chambery, Geneva and Grenoble.
