RIORGES, France, – The Ecole des Trois Ponts specializes in short-term French language immersion courses for adults, in addition to French language combined with cooking classes. Week-long courses for the 2014 season begin on March 16th at the Villa Beaulieu in Riorges, Grand Roanne, France.
French immersion courses are offered in General, Intensive, Private and Holiday formats for all skill levels by professional and native French speaking tutors all fluent in English. During select weeks, hands-on cooking classes with our in-house Chef Anthony take place in the afternoons, as guests learn to create French culinary specialties. Students dine on the starter course, main dish and dessert that they have prepared, conversing in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere with an instructor. Weeks dedicated to French Language & Pastry-Making and French Language & Chocolate-Making are offered each season with Chef Alain Berne, who has achieved the distinction of Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
Newly renovated in 2009, the Villa Beaulieu is a 19th century country house in the community of Riorges, adjacent to the town of Roanne. Nine guestrooms surround a peaceful, central garden in a quiet residential area close to patisseries, cafes and parks.
Prices for week-long French Language and Cooking courses begin at 1540 euros per person and include small-group class instruction and twin room accommodations. Prices for week-long French language start at 1 150 euros per person. Buffet breakfast and lunches, and group dinners with wine and a selection of cheeses are included in the program price. Single rooms and private one-on-one courses are available for a supplemental fee.
The Ecole des Trois Ponts was created in 1991 by René Dorel as a way to share the beauty of French culture with others. The name itself, literally translated as School of the Three Bridges, was meant to represent the bridges among cultures. Since then, the Ecole has welcomed guests from more than thirty countries.
