A favourite moment for tourists on Saturday and Wednesday mornings : going for a stroll in Boulogne market, aside the historic Church of Saint Nicolas located in the town-centre.

Rocked by the call of vendors and the smell of fresh fruits and veg, or cheese or roasted chicken, they often take pleasure in buying local specialities : a cream tart from Le Portel town or a chunk of cheddar cheese to make a welsh , coastal speciality served with chips and fresh french beer.

However much this dish tries to claim English roots, we’ve been quite happy to make it our own !

Have one in the numerous brasseries around !

In the summer, mussels and chips are The Must. Cooked with cream, white whine, or curry, try them any way you like !

Seafood platters are also hugely popular and some people are surprised to see little black shells nestling amidst the oysters, shrimps ans crab claws. These are winkles and they can be found all over the rocks on our beaches !

The richness of our destination could not be sumed up in these few words. All year long, you have so many occasions to come and enjoy a trip to Boulogne-sur-Mer and Boulonnais area.
