Escape to the Alps at Chalet Amuse Bouche, our luxury alpine chalet that we built in 2013, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil. The luxurious 5 ensuite bedroom chalet is situated in Montriond, between Morzine and Avoriaz, which means quick and easy access (6-8 minutes), via our private minibus transfers, to the ski lifts at Ardent, Pleney or Super M.

As former restauranteurs we pride ourselves on high customer service and excellent home cooked food. We have taken our previous experience from owning and running Blue Vinny restaurant in Kent, where Steve as the Head Chef and I looked after Front of House, as well the gite business in the South West of France and combined our knowledge and skills to offer top quality facilities, in a relaxed and friendly environment. We offer a very personal service to our guests and can arrange ski passes so that they are ready for their arrival. Steve loads the minibus each day with our guest’s skis so that they have to do is put their boots on. We believe good food is a very important part of a ski holiday and at Chalet Amuse Bouche we provide daily cooked breakfast specials and homemade cakes in readiness for our guests on return from the slopes. The guests then have the opportunity to relax in the sauna or the outdoor hot tub, enjoying the privacy and beautiful views towards Mont Chery. Its then time for pre dinner drinks and an amuse bouche in the lounge, before settling down to a 4 course meal with quality wine, all prepared and cooked by Steve and myself. As dinner is served 6 nights per week our guests also have the opportunity to try one of the local restaurants, bars or nightclubs in Morzine or Montriond. However, although we do have one day off per week, we do still cook breakfast, cakes and carry out the daily slope transfers.

Chalet Amuse Bouche has beautiful views and excellent facilities including a games room with pool table and darts board as well as a TV lounge with Sky TV, Xbox 360 as well as many DVD’s, books and games. We also have heated boot warmers, walkie talkies and a treatment room where our guests can enjoy massages or beauty treatments from one of our local specialists. We can also arrange discounted Geneva Airport transfers via Skiddy Gonzales and we have a link on our website to Doorsteps Skis, where our guests can arrange discounted ski/board hire, which is delivered and fitted at the chalet, meaning that there is no waiting around in hire shops and more time to relax! Our catered ski holidays range from 697 to 1200 euros pp. For more information please see our website www.escapetothealps.comChalet Amuse Bouche is also a great place to come in the Summer as the chair lifts means that you can access great walks with inspiring views across the whole of the Portes du Soleil and there are some lovely places to visit further afield if you have a car, such as Yvoire, Evian and Montreux. However, in June and September, we have been running very successful cooking weekends, which combine the skills and experience gained in the restaurant, whilst also allowing our guests to take advantage of the chalet’s facilities and beautiful environment. Our weekends run from Friday afternoon to Sunday lunchtime and include all food and drink from Friday evening through to Sunday lunch. We don’t charge a single room supplement and because we want all our guests to get a hands-on personal experience, we only run the courses for 3 people at a time, although non-participating partners can also come along for the weekend and enjoy the location, facilities and food at a reduced cost. The weekends run through a range of skills from deboning a chicken, making a ballotine, making bread and homemade pasta as well as macaroons and viennoiserie. The whole weekend is about having fun with food so again its very relaxed and the opportunity to learn some new skills with like-minded people. Guests also get the opportunity to eat everything they have made and can help serve dinner in the evening or just relax with a glass of wine, whichever they prefer. The price, including 2 nights accommodation and food is £575 per person or £200 for non- participating partners. For more information please see our website www.atasteoffrance.co.uk.Outside of cooking weekends we are open on a B&B basis for walkers and also get quite a few house hunters. We’re always happy to offer suggestions to our guests for places to visit and delighted to share our knowledge and experiences with any house hunters or guests who want to build their own house or run a catered ski chalet business.

If you would like any more information on any of the above please contact myself or Steve on [email protected]
