Why Do Ordinary? Try A Luxury Château Stay This Summer

Stay in a luxury villa or château this summer for a unique experience with Oliver’s Travels at a cheaper price than you might expect

Villa holidays are on the rise, and they aren’t as expensive as you might think. With the overall cost being shared among a group, the price for an individual could work out cheaper than some hotels. And in times of austerity, it’s important to think about saving cash wherever you can!

Co-owner Oliver, of London-based Oliver’s Travels, explains why people are turning to alternative holiday accommodation:

“Villas are brilliant because they offer you the opportunity to completely do your own thing, in your own version of luxury,” explains Oliver. “There are no rules on where and when you can eat, no housekeeping service getting you out of bed before you’re ready, and no-one else around but you and your loved ones. What could be better?”

Oliver’s Travels was established following a villa holiday experience that Oliver and co-owner Ravi shared with a group of friends, to the Dordogne area in south-west France. They so enjoyed the experience of sharing a holiday home together that they had already started forming a business plan before the end of the trip!

France has always been a classic destination for villa holidays, and with short flight times from the UK, it’s easy to understand why. Oliver says: “The classic destinations like the south of France and Tuscany are never going to go out of style. People do seem to be happy to stay within Europe in the last few years, and that’s supposed to continue into 2016.”

Of course, new holiday destinations are always being discovered, and Oliver has tipped Croatia as one of these hot spots. He says “better get in there quick before everyone finds out about it!”

Oliver’s Travels are a boutique travel agency, offering unique, luxury villa and châteaux holidays. They work directly with the property owners at their own rates, which mean their prices won’t break the bank.

“You have to bear in mind that the total price is being split lots of ways!” says Oliver. “When you boil it down to the price per person, per night, it’s actually a lot more reasonable than you would think. On average, our luxury villas are just £39 per person per night.”

They offer unique holiday accommodation in France, Italy, Spain and the UK. More recently they have introduced properties in Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and some European ski destinations, and also have a great selection of unique Caribbean properties.

All their châteaux and villas are hand-picked to offer something out of the ordinary and to give a sense of luxury, and the range of properties they have is diverse and impressive. Properties range from a modern beach-side villa with an infinity pool to a rural 18th-century castle.

Oliver says: “Customer service is paramount to us, each and every property we provide is somewhere that we would gladly stay ourselves, so we’re really happy and proud to offer them. Our friendly concierge team is always available by phone and email to help our customers plan their holidays every step of the way.”

As well as helping you choose the right property for your needs, the concierge team can also help to arrange extras including childcare and excursions. They can provide information on where to get the best deals on flights and car hire, and can even organise added extras for your stay, such as an in-house chef!

The level of service on offer at Oliver’s helped them win gold in their category at the BTAs (British Travel Awards) recently. “It was an honour to even be considered for the Best Luxury Villa Holiday Company category,” says Oliver, “so we really were thrilled to win. 2015 was a big year for us at the team, and it was great to be recognised with such a prestigious award. Probably as close as we’ll ever come to the Oscars!”

Industry recognition is not the only positive feedback for Oliver’s Travels, who also use an independent rating system called Feefo. This allows customers to leave feedback on any aspect of the business, and so far it has been overwhelmingly positive, with a score of over 90%.

When asked what makes Oliver’s Travels stand out in the holiday industry, Oliver explains, “It’s really all about the properties. We strive to get the most unique, luxury villas and châteaux out there so that we can offer something different to our customers. Why do ordinary?”
