Ferries bag a victory

A new survey reveals that luggage and car freedom’ are greatly valued by passengers choosing to travel by ferry

The flexibility of having their own car and no luggage restrictions are huge attractions to ferry passengers.

A new survey, carried out by independent research company IRN has reveals that 55% of the passengers polled rank taking their own car as very important, while 44% state that having unlimited luggage is a major attraction when choosing ferries to travel on holiday rather than other modes of transport. Other important factors include the ease of drive-through check-in and embarkation, value for money, ability to choose convenient crossing times, space and comfort, and the feeling of relaxation.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, France came top of the Continental destinations visited by the UK’s ferry passengers, and the ability to take the car could make the ferry a great way to go on recce trips to find that perfect French property.
