Air France won’t ground its Airbus 380s

It’s business as usual for French carrier’s superjumbos

Air France has announced that its four Airbus 380s will continue to operate. This declaration comes after the recent emergency landing of a Qantas-owned 380 in Singapore following engine failure.

In a statement Air France says: “Air France’s Airbus A380s are equipped with Engine Alliance GP7200 engines, which are not the same as the Rolls Royce engines which equip the Qantas fleet. Air France will be closely monitoring the technical inquiry concerning this incident and is in permanent contact with Airbus. Air France has received no request from the manufacturer to immobilise its A380s and is operating a normal flight schedule. Flight safety is an absolute priority for Air France.”
