11 reasons why camping in France is the perfect family holiday

From amazing swimming pools to entertaining kids’ clubs, these are the 11 reasons a family camping holiday in France is the perfect choice for your next family holiday

1. France is easy to get to

France is easy to get to from the UK, making it the perfect destination for a family holiday. There are plenty of low-cost flights and regional airports or you can jump in the car and take the ferry or Eurotunnel across the Channel. If you pick a campsite in northern or western France then you won’t have too much of a drive the other side, with the added advantage of being able to take as much luggage as you can cram into the boot!

2. Camping doesn’t have to mean a tent…

If sleeping under canvas doesn’t appeal then opt for luxury camping where your accommodation is a mobile home with a roof, walls and even a bathroom and fully functioning kitchen! You’ll also get a terrace for sunbathing and eating – much more civilised than a tent. There is also the advantage of having your children sleep under the same roof as you so you can keep an eye on them while still having the privacy of your own bedroom.

3. The food is great!

Luxury camping also means that you have a fully functioning kitchen so you can cook delicious meals instead of suffering a diet of burnt sausages cooked on a camping stove every evening. There are also a number of restaurants and bars in the camping villages so you don’t have to cook every night, and barbeques if you do want to try a bit of outdoor cooking. And as this is France, the local food and wine will be superb!

4. You can holiday with your extended family and friends

A luxury camping holiday offers the flexibility of being able to invite your extended family or family friends if you wish and you can have the option of hand-picking your mobile home so you can choose ones near each other. There can’t be many other ways to have three generations holidaying together…

5. Enjoy spending time together

A camping holiday really brings the family together so you can enjoy spending time with each other without the distractions of television and Facebook, enjoy nature and make friends with fellow campers.

6. Your kids will make loads of new friends in a secure environment

Being in a camping village means that your children will have plenty of opportunities to meet and make friends with other children in a secure environment and you can relax and let them have fun.

7. There are kids’ clubs to keep them amused

Your little ones won’t get bored with so many fun activities available at the kids’ clubs! From water games and craft activities to treasure hunts and sports competitions there is plenty to keep kids from 1 to teen amused in different age groups. And while they are making new friends, the adults can enjoy some rest and relaxation…

8. It’s always sunny in France!

There’s no sheltering from a downpour or wearing every item of clothing you own on a luxury camping holiday in France! Yes it does rain sometimes but it is usually warm and sunny in France during the summer, especially in the south or around Charente, which has its own microclimate making it much warmer than you’d expect.

9. There are amazing swimming pool complexes

As the weather is so good, you and your family can make the most of the amazing swimming pool complexes available, with outdoor pools, spa and thermal baths, water slides, splashzones and paddling pools, and, if the sun doesn’t shine, some complexes have indoor pools as well. All of the pools at Siblu villages are supervised by qualified lifeguards so you can enjoy yourself with peace of mind.

10. There are plenty of outdoor activities

If you can drag yourself away from the pool then there are plenty of other outdoor activities to enjoy. Many campsites are close to the coast so you can take a day trip to the beach or enjoy a coastal walk. Bikes are available to hire so you can take a cycle through the countryside or explore some of the picturesque French villages nearby.

11. There is plenty of evening entertainment

There’s no need to tell ghost stories around the campfire to while away the evenings (unless you want to!) with organised entertainment shows for both children and adults. Early evening shows let the children show off their talents while adults can join in with quiz nights, karaoke and games nights.

Siblu is an Anglo-French company that owns 17 luxury four-star campsites across France, including Normandy, Brittany, Aquitaine, Vendée, Charente-Maritime, Loire Atlantique, the Loire Valley, Languedoc, the Côte d’Azur and the Rhône-Alps. The accommodation is all high-quality mobile homes and many are owned by individuals, adding a personal touch to your holiday. Each holiday village has four-star facilities and services with free kids’ clubs, large pool complexes and family entertainment. Siblu owns all of its holiday parks meaning that every team member is dedicated to making sure you have the best experience.
