Not sure whether a renovation project in France is for you? Here are 7 reasons to choose a French property than needs renovation

1. There is plenty of choice

Whether you have your sights set on a traditional moulin in south-west France or a longère in Brittany you will sure to be able to find it.

2. Your property will have plenty of character

A quick property search will reveal that France has plenty of character properties in need of renovation with exposed stone walls, wooden beams, open fireplaces, and you will have the pleasure of bringing these period features back to their former glory.

3. You can add all the modern comforts you want

The advantage of buying a renovation project rather than a finished house is that you can easily add all the modern comforts you would like, for example geothermic heating, a modern kitchen and power shower.

A fully renovated period cottage can be expensive and it is often much cheaper to buy one that needs either a full renovation or a few finishing touches. However, a renovation could be costly, especially if you come across some unexpected problems.
