6. Cobéa *
Located in a completely restored 1920’s house in the heart of the 14th district in Paris, Cobéa is the perfect gastronomic location to fill up on some tasty cuisine before visiting a nearby theatre. Owners Phillipe Bélissent and Jérôme Cobou have bundles of culinary experience behind them, with a shared love for all haute cuisine – so you know you’re in safe hands.
The restaurant offers plenty of light with spacious tables and comfortable armchairs, ensuring guests have a relaxed and contemporary dining experience. For a more romantic setting, you can book the alcove which provides a private dining room for two.
The menu changes daily but at the time of writing, lobster from Brittany, veal sweetbreads and farm pigeon all feature on the menu. Eight dishes from the dinner menu is €120 per person and four glasses of wine to accompany the menu costs an additional €40.
A Michelin-starred restaurant since 2013, 114 Faubourg plays Parisian dining room to a host of loyal clientele. It is the sophisticated yet accommodating menu that keeps diners returning time and time again, although the chic décor and relaxing atmosphere certainly play a significant part too.
Leading Chef Jean-Charles Cauquil achieves everyday excellence with his superb selection of dishes that include an award-winning duck pâté, roasted pike perch, veal steak and hand-chopped beef tartar. There is always a daily selection of fine cheeses on offer to finish your meal.

Perhaps one of the cheapest options on this exclusive list of restaurants, 114 Faubourg offers a set dinner menu for just €144. This does not include beverages though the Champagne Alfred Gratien is worth every drop at €130 a bottle.
L’Abeille is renowned for its enchanting atmosphere as its dining room overlooks the beautiful landscaped gardens of the Shangri-La Hotel. Aside from its spectacular location, a visit to L’Abeille is an elegant and impressive culinary experience for any diner that walks through its doors.
Executive chef Christophe Moret aims to provide each guest with a unique dining experience. His aspiration is to make L’Abeille a gastronomic landmark on the map of Paris and beyond.
Christophe undoubtedly has a menu to match his ambition. The excellent selection of dishes on the menu includes Omble chevalier, Aveyron lamb and roasted pigeon. The tasting menu is €210 per person with four half dishes chosen from the menu by Christophe himself. You can add a selection of wine by the glass to accompany each dish for an additional €140.
L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon provides a theatrical setting in which diners sit at a counter and observe the chef preparing dishes and show cooking in the kitchen. It’s fast-paced and creates a fantastic atmosphere amongst guests in the restaurant.
There is usually an abundance of heavenly dishes on the menu to choose from, depending on the season and what is currently on sale in the local markets. Expect to see delicious plates such as foie gras, entrecôte and scallops served with truffles. The portions can be made on either a large or small scale to suit all appetites and there are a selection of wines which are specifically chosen to accompany each dish.
A dining experience complete with wine should total an average of €500-600 for two people, but with an opportunity to taste the famed food of Head Chef Joel Robuchon, we think it is well worth the money.
As soon as you step through the wrought iron doors, you’ll feel special and pampered by the staff at Le Cinq restaurant. The dining room is exquisite with traditional French furnishings, including two Louis XIV wardrobes and gold silt chairs.
The menu changes seasonally and creative chef Christian Le Squer describes the dishes as “flavours, concentrated and moving”. Some of the plates worth mentioning are the turbot with truffled fingerling potato emulsion, large crispy prawns from Brittany and citrus emulsion or whipped oysters.
The “Epicurean Escape” menu is priced at €310 for dinner and consists of nine courses. Or the “Seasonal Escape” lunch menu is priced at €145 for four courses or €210 for six.
1. Lasserre **
If you savour fine dining in luxurious surroundings and you’re prepared to pay the price for it, Lasserre is a must-visit on any trip to Paris. Talented Executive Chef Adrien Trouilloud now runs the kitchens of one of the French capital’s most renowned gastronomic institutions, which has been Michelin-starred since 1949.
On the menu is milk-fed veal, beef Rossini and line-caught sea bass, amongst other spectacular plates. The first floor dining room has a roof opening, enabling you to feast on these award-winning dishes under the stars.
The tasting menu is €195 per person and includes four dishes and two desserts as recommended by Adrien Trouilloud himself. The tasting menu with wines to match will set you back €350 per person.
