Property pick: period farmhouse in Charente
PUBLISHED: 11:55 21 October 2014 | UPDATED: 17:15 19 November 2015
This period farmhouse in Charente is our favourite French property this week
Situated in a village, this stone farmhouse is only a few minutes drive (or an easy cycle ride) from the pretty town of Jarnac on the banks of the Charente river. Packed with original features, the farmhouse boasts wooden beams, fireplaces, exposed stone walls and the original wooden staircase. On the ground floor there is a large farmhouse kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom, while upstairs are four bedrooms and another bathroom. The property has a lawn, courtyard, pool and a spacious outbuilding that could be used as a garage or converted into further accommodation.
