La Poule au Pot
Located in the heart of Belgravia in London, classic French bistro La Poule au Pot will be offering a new takeaway menu from Wednesday 20th May. Available to collect from the restaurant from 12pm-5pm Wednesday to Saturday, the menu offers a selection of the chef’s favourite dishes including ratatouille, tarte à l’oignon, boeuf bourguignon and the restaurant’s infamous poule at pot, with tarte tatin and mousse au chocolat among the tempting desserts. Providing gourmet ready meals handmade by French chef Christophe, Ma Cuisine in Bath offers a range of over 80 dishes to choose from as well as a selection of wines. The meals are delivered frozen so can be added to your freezer or put straight in the oven or microwave. Free next-day delivery is available within the Bath area and orders can be placed online or by phone (01225 312959). Ma Cuisine’s online shop also sells a range of items including eggs and flour.
Patron Cave à Manger’s Maison Patron service promises to bring a little taste of Paris to your own front door. Co-owner Jean-François has been busy delivering boxes to doorsteps in North London, where free delivery is available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12-7pm. A collection service is also now being offered at their second location in Highbury, which had only been open since February before the lockdown forced it to close its doors again. Why not treat yourself to the full three-course French dining experience, starting with baked Normandy camembert followed by duck confit and finished with a crème brûlée.
Côte at Home
Restaurant chain Côte Brasserie has launched an online shop where customers can order many of the dishes and products sold in its restaurants. Choose from freshly prepared mains such as poulet Breton and hachis parmentier, frites or haricot beans as sides and pain perdu or tarte aux pommes for dessert. Cheeses and meats are also available to order from the online fromagerie and butchery, and the drinks selection includes French wines and champagne. Order via the website for delivery from Monday to Saturday.
Run by husband and wife team Pascal and Laura Wiedemann, Pompette (meaning tipsy in French) in the pretty Oxford suburb of Summertown launched its Pompette at Home takeaway menu on 14th May. Pompette at Home will be available from Thursday to Saturday to begin with and orders must be placed and paid for the week before you collect your meal. Orders can be placed by phone (01865 311166) from 12-3pm Monday to Saturday, and customers will be allocated a pick-up time slot between 4-6.30pm on the day requested.
Dominique Ansel Bakery London
The London bakery of award-winning pastry chef Dominique Ansel, creator of pastry sensation the Cronut, has created Dominique Ansel At Home. In addition to the bakery’s usual sweet and savoury treats it has launched a fresh bread service plus handmade pasta and sauces to cook at home. Bake-at-home cookie sets are coming soon, as are a series of ‘Bake At Home With Chef Dominique’ videos and recipes. Collection can be arranged from the Belgravia store while delivery is available within a four-mile radius via Deliveroo.
Bristol-based restaurant littlefrench. has created a selection of food boxes for collection from their location in Westbury Park. Filled with seasonal and locally sourced fresh produce, options range from a veg box (£38) with 12 varieties of vegetable and eight fruit items, to fresh or frozen fish boxes (£40/£30) and a family-sized meat box (£60). The phone line for orders (01179 706276) is open from 10am-3pm and orders must be placed by 2pm for collection the following day.
La Boulangerie Artisan
Ralph Saint Rose and Raoul Dyevre have lived in Cheltenham for over 20 years and in 2018 the pair opened La Boulangerie Artisan on Saxon Way after retraining as artisan bakers. Their popular baguettes and loaves are made to traditional methods using French flour and sea salt from Brittany and are supplied to a number of businesses in the Cotswolds town. Customers are very happy to stand in a socially distanced queue on a Saturday morning to stock up on pain and pastries.
