  • Hello: I think perhaps you have mixed apples and oranges in your questions and have given pause to those of us who attempted to complete the quiz honestly. There were instances where sites were mentioned and yes I have visited that site and my husband and I had a fabulous time. However, we did not go crab hunting at that site. In other places we did not hike or cycle. or fish the local lake. Perhaps we are just Francophiles who come to SEE and who love the surroundings, the people and the food of France and are extremely happy to just be alive in France as compared to anywhere else and so then our outings are those done to a more leisurely pace: to wander across the villages and make it to the market towns near the village of our hotel and to shop in the cities for new kitchen utensils or a gleaming copper pot and always to enjoy a wonderful lunch, maybe a pique-nique from tasty local fare gotten at the day markets and later to dress sharply and head out to a luscious dinner, on the terrasse in summer and near the warm fireplace in the winter months, eating what the chef has suggested, a few extra courses enjoyed along with meaningful conversation and some great local wine, after which there is that very special feeling of having dined gloriously and that makes everything seem as it should be, perfect, (unlike at home!) and all that is left is to walk across a hall, say, and into what will be most likely a very empty bar and sit again in a candle-lit corner of a small salon and finish off the day, and the evening. with a nice old Calvados or a marc (sp) or maybe even a bubbly vintage coupe d'Champagne and the whispered talk of tomorrow's plans and the early morning drive to the next village.
