Maison de Textile offers you the best of both worlds in Montolieu - the Village of Books and Arts near Carcassonne in the Occitane region of South West France. This 5 day French experience will improve your French conversation in a relaxed learning environment complemented with visits in the locale, including a guided tour of La Cite the UNESCO world heritage site in Carcassonne.

How does it work?

Your day will begin with morning classes completely in French. In the afternoons the immersion continues with cultural and historic discoveries. Your French instructor accompanies you throughout. Catherine is native French and has the equivalent of a Masters degree in Language and has taught for more than 20 years.

Many say immersion courses are the best way to improve your diction, vocabulary and confidence. Whether you are a beginner or improver this course is for you.

Relax and enjoy with everything provided for you

Your accommodation and the course is at Maison de Textile www.maisondetextile.com a deluxe apartment located in Montolieu with breakfast and lunch included. Your morning tuition is followed in the afternoons with visits to art galleries, booksellers in Montolieu and cultural excursion to Carcassonne.

At the end of each afternoon relax in the garden by the river with an aperitif,or take a short drive to one of the historic sights nearby. Alternatively simply stroll into Montolieu for your evening meal ( not included). There is much to see in this area and we can advise you of the best places to visit during your stay. Montolieu itself is a delight with 1 8 booksellers, 1 5 artists in residence, 2 museums and 5 restaurants.

This is a wine growing region and tasting the local wines is an enjoyable pastime. We have therefore organised a tutored wine tasting one evening included in you stay. We also have a home cinema with a selection of French (subtitled) films for your enjoyment. On the last evening you will dine with your instructor in a Montolieu restaurant. This finale dinner brings the course to a close.

More about your accommodation

You will stay in Maison de Textile’s elegant 3 double bedroom apartment with kitchen, dining room and spacious sitting room. Our ensuite double rooms are perfect for couples. Extra beds are available for those sharing.

How to get to your course?

Travel to Maison de Textile is not included, though could not be easier. There are direct flights from the UK into Carcassonne or Toulouse. If you come by rail, we can collect you from Carcassonne SNFC railway station. Travelling by car the autoroute A61 is 1 5 minutes from Montolieu.

What it costs and when

Courses available in mid September, October and November 201 8. The price is Euro 645 per person for your 5 night stay to include the tuition, half board, trips, wine tasting and finale dinner.
