Almost the same thing Christine, but they are oak processionary catapillars and they do cause a lot of damage in the oak forests in Portugal!! I have not seen these but they sound just as dangerous!
I didn't know that they were that far North...

Christine, I would love to have been a 'fly on the wall' at the end of the last ice age listening to the scientists talking about global warming? I have always wondered when they will realise that it's all happened before...
In the mid 1800s it was reconed that London would come to a complete halt. Not because there were so many people but because London would be 4 foot deep in horse muck. That didn't happen either. I'll bet there were some lovely roses about though...
