Complaints and Reporting a Post

Forum Admin 27/03/2006, 14:15

If you have come across a particular post by a member which you believe to be offensive or has broken the forum's “Code of Conduct” then you should report it.

To do this you will find the word “Report” at the bottom far right of every post, place your mouse pointer over this word and click. This will result in a screen popping up that allows you to enter a subject and your reasons for complaint, a copy of the post will automatically be sent to the moderators when you click on ‘Post’.

This is the only way you can report incidences and problems about members or their posts to the moderators, sending PM’s and private emails about such things is not allowed and no action relating to the report will be taken.

The reason for this is that a report is automatically raised in the moderator's section and has to be actioned and approved. It also keeps track of problems and it is where Archant and Forum Admin will always look. It also means that all moderators are made aware of the report/problem which ensures action will be taken.

Abusive Private Message or Email.

If you receive an abusive Private Message (PM) then you can report it by clicking on the 'report' button located at the bottom right of the PM and it will be dealt with in the same way as a reported post on the forum.

If you receive an abusive email (not to be confused with the email notification given when a PM is received) then you should cut and paste the email (including the header) in to a PM and send it to Forum Admin. You should also forward the email along with the header to their Internet Service Provider (ISP) at abuse@xxxxxxxx where xxxxxxx is the ISP of the person who sent the email (eg. fred@yahoo.com would become abuse@yahoo.com). This action may result in the sender's email being suspended.
