Hello Mrs Riff Raff

Disappointed you are not really riff-raffs, thought I had found some kindred spirits.Big Smile [:D]

Good luck to you all in your venture. Reassured that you are getting proper professional advice. Once you get here, do not hesitate to let off steam on the forum - shows you're human in my books.

Bonne chance.

It's nice to see someone respond to the advice given by forum members so positively.Smile [:)]

I'm just a bit concerned about this though;

For up to ten people, you are going to need more than a little bit, so I hope that was a euphamism for, errm, a lot'll bit.Smile [:)]

Big Smile [:D]Mr Riff's wording does leave alot to be desired doesn't it lol.  We will in fact have quite a large sum left over.  Their house is worth £20K more than they thought and ours is worth £10K more than we estimatedBig Smile [:D] That was a nice surprise I can tell you. Just in case anyone is thinking this is a bit of a weird set up....we do not intend to live in the same house for the rest of our lives!!! This will be a temporary set up while we concentrate on the business.  We are taking our four berth caravan with us too  I have a feeling this is going to be a valuable piece of equipment to get some peace and quiet!!  Luckily Mr Raff is a builder and we hope to build houses in the future, which is why we have to be sure we won't be buying a red herring that you can never build on or whatsnot!! The advice given so far has been amazing and has certainly put us on the right track alot sooner than we might have found it had we not stumbled on this forum. thanks everyone.

Hi  RR.  I have seen lakes for sale in France with no planning permission to build.  If my memory serves me correctly they are quite reasonable too.  Would you not consider this and renting separately for the short term until you find the ideal plots on which to build.

You have your ideas to brainstorm about and keep you happy at the moment but with the pressures of starting a new business and all living under one roof the strain could bring a few cracks into a relationship.

I have holidayed with other families and although I am pretty laid back and can get on with most, in my experience most women don't live together that easily especially when a mish mash of children are involved.  It will be tough in the early days of the business, you know that.  You also know that children have an uncanny habit of "trouble making" and "finger pointing" if they feel they are not getting enough attention.

I think after a hard days work of untangling myself from the famous red tape, I would rather go home and relax with my own family rather than treading on eggshells waiting for a nuclear fallout.

Good luck to you all and I hope you get what you want.

The Chinese ideogram for 'trouble' is <two women under one roof>

What you are saying Katie is exactly true.  It is something us two women have been talking about this week in fact regarding a kitchen!!  The lake we are interested in and are waiting for pictures on actually has two chalets in the grounds, each has two bedrooms and a bathroom.  Not ideal I know which is why our faithful caravan is coming too.  We all want this venture so much that we are prepared to stick it our together until the time is right.  I don't think the men would consider renting.  No doubt Mr Riff will reply to you tonightSmile [:)]

Well, the lake with two chalets sounds ideal, at least you will have your own space AND kitchen.Woot! [:-))]
