I need to know whether it is possible to issue a French cheque which is blank but limited, i.e. where the amount can be filled in by the recipient but is subject to a maximum.
In the UK it used to be (maybe still is) possible to do this by crossing the cheque and writing "not exceeding fifty pounds" - or whatever - between the lines.
Does anyone know whether there is an equivalent method in France? From where I am just now it isn't practicable to call my bank. I've searched on several banking sites but haven't found the answer.
