The flying of the raptors is well worth the visit. Wanted to try velo trail but never had the time when we had a maison secondaire close to there.
Geants really worth seeing, but the shows only at certain times of the day- therefore you need to arrive at the right time, or hang around for hours, as the shows and the feeding of the birds coincide. Google the site for times.
We walked up the first time, the second time drove up- very steep walk in places.

Don't know about this Chauvigny velorail but we have used the one at Confolens (86) several times when we've had visitors. The children in particular think it's great fun!

The velo rail is well worth a visit. You will need to be fit as it is hard work cycling up, but a pleasure to come down. There are some nice views of the city to be had on the way. Take plenty to drink with you.
