Hi Hay fever sufferers,
anyone found anything as good as benadryl here in France, my kids are suffering at the mo, one is taking Humex, as run out of Benadryl, but it doesnt seem to be working. I know I can probably buy online, but its urgent!! Preferably over the counter stuff. Non drowsy.

Benadryl Allergy Relief is acrivastine, which I cannot find used as an active ingredient for any antihistamine medication in France (but is available in other countries). Benadryl Plus contains acrivastine and a decongestant. Benadryl Once-A-Day is Cétirizine, which is available OTC under various brand names from all pharmacies.

Thanks Clair,
We are using Humex which is cetrizine, apparently the generic name is Diphenhydramine, and someone has suggested Nautamine, a travel sickness tablet here in france! . I must say it all confuses me. Benadryl is manufactured in germany, and as hubby is working there he called in a chemist, but they have not heard of it!

Simply ask for a generic brand for Cétirizine. Réactine, Humex Rhinite Allergique, Actifed Allergie and Zyrtecsec all have cetirizine as their active ingredient and are all OTC in pharmacies in France.
