It's cherry-time down here just now, so the local (I think self-appointed) centre for cherries, had a sort of an excuse-for-a-Sunday-bash-type-of-day today.
Usual stuff, but no worse for that: trinkets, plants, saucisson, olives / tapenade, (last of the) asperagus, and of course ........... loads and loads of cherries. Fresh as a daisy and €4 / kilo + asperagus @ €2.50 / kilo. Nice eating. The buffet was doing a strong trade in merguez-baguette (as we left!)
The shame is that we had to pass on the main event of the day. Most, if not all of you, will have missed the 'World Championship Cherry Stone Spitting Contest'. "Inscriptions avant quatorze heures".
Wonder if the winner will make the Midi Libre or even the DT tomorrow?
