Stansted - Flight connection

Adr 28/04/2008, 14:56

Can anyone tell me whether there is a way of getting directly from arrivals to the departure area in Stansted. As I will have already printed off my boarding pass it seems like a waste of time to go all the way out of departures and then queue to go back in through security.

Many thanks.

Nope, unfortunately not possible.  As soon as the wheels have touched the ground you are deemed to have entered the UK and since that isn't part of the Schengen agreement, you have to pass through Immigration and hence out of the arrivals area then back into Departures even if you are coming/going from/to an EU country, sorry.

I second that, no transit lounge.  Their own website advises allowing a minimum of 2 hours for connecting flights http://www.stanstedairport.com/portal/page/STN%5EFlight+Information%5ECreate+your+own+connection/

Thanks for your reply Pierre. Its a pity because it always seems to take so long to get through security.
