Hello,
I'm new here ... we are considering moving to France, probably renting initially while we find out where we want to be etc. We're fluent French-speakers and will be jobhunting straight away. Does anyone know whether we will have problems renting without a contract secured? Would we have to pay lots of months' rent in advance or something?

You don't say which part of France you want to start job hunting. An indication would be a good idea.
