Got up this morning about 7am, bit of grey day but thought I would go for a quick run after breakfast. But I don't think so now!!

I got a message at 0630 (UK time) that there was/is 2 in of snow at Abingdon Oxfordshire.

My wife was really pleased (we dont see a lot of snow in the Gulf) and thought of it as a birthday pressie.

Friends of mine are due to run a half marathon near Abingdon (Wantage) which is due to start in a few minutes. If it was 2 inches at 6.30am then they are going to be having lots of fun!! Maybe they should have taken their skis instead of running shoes!!

Can't believe I was sitting out on the patio eating a lovely fruit salad in the beautiful sunshine on Friday afternoon after having done a bit of gardening!

Woken up by my daughter telling me I had to rescue our bamboo plant which had been flattened by snow, hitting it with a big stick did the trick.Smile [:)] Luckily I had covered the emerging shoots of hostas and the small acer with the leaves nearly unfurled, a good 2 inches of snow has fallen here.(Berkshire)

Pics later.
