RTT days and 35 hour week

Are there any French employment law experts out there??
I'm considering a job offer, but would be moving from a job where I currently have 12 RTT rest days.
I've been told by the potential new employers that they are allowed to propose contracts to new employees that don't give employees any RTT days. I'm not at all familiar with this aspect of employment law and wonder if anyone knows if this is correct. Thanks!

If you have RTT, you must be working over 35h a week. Could it be that your potential new employers do not allow any overtime (i.e. 35h/week, no more, no less)?
Also, although I have not looked at this in any depth, I believe there has been a recent-ish change which allows RTT to be paid rather than taken in time off, to enable workers a greater "pouvoir d'achat"... To be confirmed by someone more knowledgeable in the matter...

Yes, in my current job, I have 'cadre' status, so am expected to work whatever hours are necessary to complete the job. The 12 RTT days are to compensate for these extra hours.
However, the new job contract I'm being proposed seems contradictory to me - they say that it's a 35 hour contract, but also states that I'd need to work whatever hours are required to do the job!
