Hello, all,

Thinking of taking husband for a few nights away at the beginning of June (big birthday) and currently looking at the Ile de Re.  It sounds delightful, I must say.  The hotels are a bit pricey though.  Has anyone stayed somewhere they can recommend?  Have also been looking at guest houses and there are some gorgeous looking places.  Anyone got any suggestions?  Thanks.

Smile [:)]A good time to visit as it shouldn't be as crowded as in Jul / Aug.

St. Martin is nice and you can hire bikes and cycle round.

Sorry, can't advise on accommodation but I imagine the tourist office would have a good list.

Friends of ours stay regularly at Hotel Le Clos St Martin.  We visited them last September when they were staying there - it is situated within the old city wall and is a very close to the harbour and all the resturants.
