I saw a great documentary about the work and private life of this amazing photographer on Canal Plus last night.
They interviewed Yoko Ono who evoked a photoshoot with Ms. Leibowitz for her and John Lenon just hours before he was assasinated.
I found this link which describes the photoshoot and it shows the photo which was used on the cover of 'Rolling Stone' following his death.

ahhhh! TWINKLE, nobodys replied, I think it's an amazing photo..........It has captured Lennon as so vulnerable in it as I think he probably was for most of his life........a little boy who happened to be a genius. I like Leibowitz' style of photography
