Hi is the work situation for builders in france that bad.I have heard conflicting reports.We know  you have to get a seret number to be regestered, only our friends who live in france and have done for 2 years are finding plasteringjobs really hard to come by.any info wouldbe greatly appreciated.

It could be because of the type of building works that they are offering. Plastering isn't something that is done as standard in French houses.  But lots of other type of building work seems to be very much in demand.

Thanks for that. Still dont know what to do about moving my husband is actually a fiberous plasterer which we dont think there is much call for that , he can also do alot of other constuction work but at the moment we are thinking again about what to do.We have aloud ourselves 2 years to have a good look at things and what oppourtunities are available if any.Like i said earlier our friends have been looking and advertising but nothing seems to be happening they dont want to come back to the uk but if they dont find work shortly they will have to is the grass greener on the other side.
