Did you all do the "before" and "after" photos and if so I'm sure lots of us would love to see the results. especially the horror pics like mine. My OH has promised me faithfully that this will become our bedroom. He just can't tell me when, so not sure when you will see the "after" photo. We bought an old stone built stable with no windows and a beaten earth floor and I did almost all the work myself. Took years, in fact there are bits and pieces still not finished. I'll have to dig out old pics and scan them, but i've got loads of work at the moment. I don't know how to scan  photos but we have a similar tale to tell, only worse to start with. I must give all credit to Eddie , I didn't do much except for cleaning up. I will say that now the kitchens going in as we speak, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel which was at one point hiding in a dark remote place that was too far away to comprehend.
